New York-based early stage venture capital firm Union Square Ventures has closed its second fund, Union Square Ventures 2008, on $156m. Investors in the fund include all of the institutional investors in the firm's previous fund, plus two new investors, according to Union Square partner Brad Burnham.
Union Square Ventures 2008 will continue the firm's investment focus, targeting IT-enabled services in the media, marketing, financial services, telecommunications and healthcare sectors.
In 2004 the firm closed its inaugural fund, Union Square Ventures 2004, on $125m. Recent investments from the fund include AdaptiveBlue, Bug Labs, Clickable, Twitter, Zynga, Etsy and del.icio.us.
